AutoCAD 2023 Security Vulnerability

AutoCAD 2023 Security Vulnerability

Autodesk have found a security vulnerability within all AutoCAD-based 2023 (2024 for Mac) products. They have released an update for each product to mitigate the vulnerability. To ensure you’re on the latest version, follow the below steps.

We also recommend running a critical anti-virus scan on your machine using your anti-virus software.

Checking AutoCAD Version

You can check what version your AutoCAD product is running by following the below steps.

Open your AutoCAD product, in the top right corner click the dropdown arrow next to ‘?’ and select About Autodesk AutoCAD 2023.

A pop-up will appear showing your product version.

If you’re not running version 2023.1.4 (2024.1 for Mac), you will need to download the latest version either through Autodesk Access or the Accounts Portal.

Installing the Latest Version

The quickest way to install the latest version of your products is through Autodesk Access. On windows, you can find this within your tray bar or by searching within windows search bar.

Once opened, you’ll see a list of all available installed updates, as below.

Otherwise, you can download and install the updates from your Management Portal:

Navigate to Product Updates and search for your installed AutoCAD products. Please download and run the relevant update for each product affected. To note, you will have updates to all products including those not currently installed.

As a recommendation, Man and Machine advise to keep any Autodesk application including those unaffected by the vulnerability up to date.
