Autodesk Device Limit Reached

In recent updates to the Licensing Service, Autodesk have included functionality that checks when a product is being used simultaneously on multiple machines. This dialog shows on-launch, displaying the machine(s) the product is running/paused on whilst disabling the use of the software.

Please ensure each user has their own Autodesk account with an active license assigned and the user is signed into their account on their machine. When we encounter this dialog, it means users are signed into the same account.

You have the ability to pause the product on another machine, please note this does not end a drawing or session. Since you don’t exit the product, no work is lost.

Best Practices:

  • If you use a product on a shared device, such as one in a computer lab, sign out of the product when you are finished.
  • If you’re an admin who assigns product access to users, be sure that each user has a unique account and urge users to sign out when they’re finished.
  • In the event you see that the person who used the shared device before you didn’t sign out, sign out and then sign in again using your own account.
  • Ensure you’re signed into your account when starting any Autodesk product.
